Interesting point about a lack of depth in internet reading - when we discussed this in class we all admitted we were guilty of this. When you add in the fact that Twitter was used in this instance to communicate, which is a platform specifically designed not to be too deep, you have a recipe for communication disasters and misunderstandings. Given that Banks seemed to be so passionate about the topic, I found it strange that she used Twitter to get her message across, which is so limited in scope. If her intent was to address a social issue, Twitter seems to be about the worst place to do this. There isn't enough room to make a convincing argument. It seemed that she simply wanted to act as an instigator, instead of trying to open an honest and thoughtful dialogue.
